Jannik Sinner and Laila Hasanovic: Fans Furious at the Paparazzi

Jannik Sinner and his girlfriend Laila Hasanovic were spotted and filmed a few days ago while grocery shopping together at a supermarket in Munich, and the video posted online inevitably went viral on social media, sparking considerable controversy. In fact, many fans were outraged by the invasion of privacy of the world’s number one tennis player and the Danish model, who were filmed without their consent.
“What disgusting behavior—can’t you just respect people’s privacy?”, “Why are people filming them at the supermarket? I hate that they can’t have a little privacy,” “I’d like to see how you’d react if, while you’re grocery shopping, someone filmed you with their phone and posted your face,” “This is a session, leave them alone,” is the tone of the comments online.
Of course, the viral video probably didn’t sit well with the couple themselves, who are usually very private about their relationship—so much so that they don’t post any photos of the two of them together on their respective social media profiles.
This isn’t the first time in recent weeks that the couple has found themselves at the center of media attention in Monaco. A few days earlier, they had been filmed zooming through the streets of the Principality on Sinner’s bright red scooter, with him in a black T-shirt and sunglasses and her wearing a striking matching red helmet. That video, too, quickly made the rounds on social media, going viral within a few hours.
The supermarket outing is actually one of the many moments of normalcy the South Tyrolean champion is allowing himself at this time, following a particularly intense first half of the year. Sinner has resumed intense training at the Monte Carlo Country Club alongside his coach Simone Vagnozzi, with the goal of arriving in top form at Wimbledon, where he is set to defend the title he won in 2025.
He has chosen not to play any grass-court tournaments before the Championships, which begin on June 29, aside from an exhibition match at the Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic at the Hurlingham Club in London. It’s a well-defined schedule that also leaves room for a few hours of freedom on the streets of Monte Carlo, even if—as yet another viral video shows—privacy remains a hard-to-come-by luxury for one of the world’s top tennis players.
