It’s official now: Milan has signed a new striker

It’s now official: Gonçalo Ramos is a new Milan player. The Rossoneri club released a statement on Tuesday: “AC Milan announces that it has acquired the playing rights of Gonçalo Matias Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain FC on a permanent basis. The Portuguese forward has signed a contract with the Rossoneri through June 30, 2031.”
“Born in Olhão on June 20, 2001, Gonçalo Ramos came up through the youth systems of Olhanense and Benfica, where he completed his development before making his professional debut in 2019. With the Lisbon club, he made over 100 official appearances and scored 41 goals, establishing himself as one of the most promising talents in Portuguese soccer and playing a decisive role in the team’s Primeira Liga victory during the 2022–23 season.”
“In the summer of 2023, he transferred to Paris Saint-Germain, a club with which he continued to excel at the highest levels of European soccer, adding three French League titles, two French Cups, three French Super Cups, two UEFA Champions League titles, one UEFA Super Cup, and one FIFA Intercontinental Cup to his trophy case, while scoring 45 goals in 131 appearances.”
“In November 2022, he made his debut with Portugal’s senior national team. With the Portuguese national team, he took part in two editions of the FIFA World Cup and won the 2024–25 UEFA Nations League. AC Milan extends a warm welcome to Gonçalo and wishes him the best of success, both personally and as part of the team, in the Rossoneri jersey,” the statement concludes.
The now-former Paris Saint-Germain player will be tasked with boosting the performance of an attack that struggled greatly last season with Niclas Füllkrug, Santiago Gimenez, and Christopher Nkunku.
