Paola Egonu, Alessia Orro, and Myriam Sylla are back on the Italian national team

Everything is set for the final stretch of the 2026 Volleyball Nations League. After a week of intense training in Cervia, the women’s national team, led by head coach Julio Velasco, is gearing up for Week 3 of the tournament, scheduled to take place in Hong Kong from July 8 to 12.
At the modern Kai Tak Arena, Italy will face Ukraine, Belgium, Canada, and China. The goal is clear: to secure a spot in the Macao Finals, scheduled for July 22–26. The Italian team enters the tournament in third place in the overall standings with 6 wins and 2 losses, behind the United States women’s national volleyball team and the Brazil women’s national volleyball team—the only teams so far to have defeated Italy in the previous two weeks of competition.
The Italian squad is therefore aiming for two parallel goals: to solidify its position in the run-up to the Finals and to continue improving its physical conditioning and technical coordination, with the full roster now back together.
