Jannik Sinner defeats Jan-Lennard Struff and advances to the semifinals of Wimbledon. The Italian managed to overcome the German in a hard-fought match that saw the San Candido native triumph with a final score of 7-5, 7-6, 6-3.

In the first set, the Italian had to contend with an opponent who was very effective on serve, capable of keeping the set close thanks to the power of his first serve and his ability to keep rallies short. Sinner, however, managed his service games well, gradually increasing the pressure on his returns.

The turning point came at 5-5, when the world No. 1 raised his level of play, securing the decisive break after breaking through the German’s resistance. In the next game, he closed it out without hesitation, taking the set 7-5.

The second set was even more closely contested. Sinner started strong, immediately breaking serve, but Struff responded right away with a break back. From that point on, both players defended their service games with great authority, with the German always posing a threat thanks to his first serve and the Italian capable of responding at the most crucial moments. At 5-6, Sinner had to save a set point before forcing the set into a tiebreak. In the decisive game, the Italian was flawless, securing a mini-break and winning 7-4 to take a two-set lead.

In the third set, Sinner continued to push, showing great confidence, especially on his serve and in return games. Struff tried to stay in the match, alternating between serving and coming to the net, but the Italian increased the pressure as the game progressed. The deadlock was broken at 4-3, when Sinner secured the decisive break with a magnificent down-the-line backhand. Called upon to serve for the match at 5-3, the world No. 1 gave nothing away and closed out the match on his first match point.

An important victory for Sinner, who thus reaches his third Wimbledon semifinal after a battle lasting over two and a half hours against a Struff who managed to keep him on his toes for a long time.
