Flavio Cobolli is set to make history on Wednesday at Wimbledon as he aims for his first semifinal appearance at the London Grand Slam. The Italian tennis player will face the home favorite, the surprising British player Arthur Fery, a wild card entry who has made it into the tournament’s top 8.

The Roman tennis player will take the court on Center Court no earlier than 4 p.m., after the conclusion of the women’s match between Jasmine Paolini and Marta Kostjuk. The match will be broadcast exclusively on Sky and streamed on Now. Cobolli has defeated Argentina’s Navone, Australia’s Duckworth, Russia’s Khachanov, and Australia’s Alex De Minaur along the way: he was particularly impressive against the top-ten player, winning three sets to zero and showcasing his excellent physical condition.

Fery, for his part, eliminated Bosnia’s Dzumhur, Finland’s Virtanen, Belgium’s Bergs, and Bulgaria’s Dimitrov after a five-set battle. The Roman and the Englishman have faced each other once before, at this year’s Australian Open: the Briton prevailed in three sets.

After the match against De Minaur, Cobolli spoke about his progress over the past few months: “Many people underestimate me, but that means I have less pressure, and that gives me a lot of energy. For Jannik, on the other hand, it’s different because he’s under more pressure. I’m the one trailing behind—until recently, even behind Lorenzo Musetti—and that’s kept me very calm. The pressure is all on Jannik, which takes a lot of it off me, and that’s a good thing for me. Then again, maybe it’s also a bad thing because sometimes I’d like to be appreciated a little more.”
