Parma Transfer Market: Alessandro Circati Is Set to Leave Italy

Alessandro Circati is very close to leaving Parma and Serie A. According to reports from Sky, the Italian-Australian defender has reached an agreement with Benfica for a transfer to the Portuguese league. The Eagles are reportedly now negotiating directly with the Emilia-based club for the defender, born in 2003, who played for the Australian national team at the last World Cup.
Circati had been linked to several Italian clubs, but none made a move to secure the player, whose transfer fee is just over 20 million euros. Benfica, having already reached an agreement with the player, has now approached Parma to finalize the transfer.
The Portuguese club holds a clear advantage, and the deal could be finalized shortly. Circati made his professional debut with Parma in 2021 and has since played 95 matches across all competitions, scoring two goals. Last season, he was a starter in Emilia, and at the World Cup, he played in all four of Australia’s matches; the team was eliminated on penalty kicks by Egypt in the round of 16.
There has been no shortage of suitors in Serie A over the past few months. According to reports from Hooligan Soccer, both Juventus and Milan had made exploratory inquiries about the player. Juventus, in particular, had gathered concrete information on Circati, identifying him as the ideal candidate to rejuvenate their defense. However, Parma’s valuation had deterred potential Italian suitors. PSG and Bologna had also been linked to him.
