Juve Transfer Market: The Bianconeri are targeting a familiar face they’ve been pursuing since 2019. Fans are skeptical and annoyed.

Juventus is stepping up its transfer activity to fill the gaps in Luciano Spalletti’s roster. The Tuscan coach has highlighted some critical areas in midfield (Kessié is on the radar) and in attack (there’s renewed talk of Mateo Retegui), but reinforcements are also needed on the wings if, as it appears, Juan Cabal were to leave Turin.
According to rumors reported by Tuttosport, the name of Emerson Palmieri—who worked with Spalletti during his time in Rome—has surprisingly resurfaced on the Bianconeri’s transfer radar. The left-back, who would serve as Cambiaso’s backup, still has one year left on his contract with Olympique de Marseille and has reportedly been offered to the Turin club.
Palmieri, 32, is capable of playing on both flanks and can adapt to both a three-man and a four-man defense. The Brazilian fullback has been linked to Juventus several times in the past, the first time in 2019.
The rumor wasn’t well-received by fans, who voiced their displeasure rather harshly on social media: “Disgraceful player,” “Enough already! Let’s move on to other names!”, “And I thought he’d retired,” “He wasn’t any good back in 2020,” “Does he even play anymore?”, “It’d be great if it were 2021,” “For the fullback position, I can’t see Emerson Palmieri’s name in 2026—that’s just too much.”
In midfield, the main target remains Franck Kessié. The Ivorian midfielder, born in 1996 and currently a free agent after stints with Atalanta, Milan, Barcelona, and Saudi Arabia, has reportedly already reached a preliminary agreement with Juventus for a three-year deal worth 4.5 million euros per season, including a signing bonus. Sporting director Frederic Massara is playing a key role in the negotiations, having built a solid relationship with the player’s agents during their time together at Milan. Before officially announcing the Ivorian’s arrival, however, Juventus will need to free up space on the roster by transferring Arthur (whose contract is expected to be terminated), Koopmeiners, and Miretti.
