BC Roma continues to be active in the transfer market: Maxi Kleber is on their radar

BC Roma continues to be active in the transfer market with the goal of adding another piece to a roster that has already undergone significant changes. The Rome-based club’s attention has reportedly shifted to the international market and, in particular, to a highly experienced player.

According to Superbasket, the Roman club has in fact initiated preliminary talks with Maxi Kleber in recent hours. The 34-year-old German big man would be a major addition to the team coached by Alessandro Magro, bringing experience, physicality, and personality.

Born in Würzburg on January 29, 1992, Kleber is a 208-centimeter power forward who can also play center. Versatility is one of his main strengths: in addition to his defensive contributions, the German is able to stretch the floor thanks to his threat from long range.

Before moving to the United States, Kleber had built a significant part of his career in Germany. After playing for Würzburg, he also played for Bayern Munich, gradually establishing himself as one of the most promising big men in German basketball and winning the national championship in 2014.

The turning point came in 2017 with his move to the NBA and the start of his long stint with the Dallas Mavericks. In Texas, Kleber shared the locker room with Luka Doncic for several seasons, carving out an important role for himself thanks above all to his solid defense, his ability to adapt to tactical needs, and the experience he had gained over the years.

The German big man has made a total of over 480 NBA appearances and even reached the Finals with Dallas during the 2023–24 season. Such an impressive resume makes the prospect of him joining BC Roma particularly intriguing.
