Virtus Wins in Venice; Mumbrù Criticizes Only One Aspect

Virtus Bologna secured a 93-86 road victory over Venice in their Serie A Matchday 3 game. After a slow start, the Vu Nere took control of the game early on, earning an important win at the Taliercio. Among the standouts were Frazier with 16 points and 5 assists; Carr also played well with 13 points, Klintman with 11, and Baldasso with 10.
After the game, Coach Alex Mumbrù commented on the victory: “I don’t think we got off to a good start. Venice came out with energy; we weren’t in rhythm, neither on offense nor on defense. They played well in the first half; they were confident.”
The game turned around in the second quarter: “We improved and played better; we grew stronger minute by minute and finished on a high note. We knew it would be a tough game, against an excellent team in a great atmosphere. The team is improving; we’re building, and this is just another win. We have many more games ahead of us.”
Virtus is the only undefeated team, along with Napoli, after the first three rounds of the league. In its first two games, Bologna defeated Varese and Maxima Roma.
