Palermo overwhelmed by booing, Corini back in the balance

Rosanero coach shows calm, but the air has become heavy

At the end of a match in which literally everything happened between penalties revoked by VAR, penalties awarded but not realized, and goals cancelled always due to the on-file review, Palermo threw away yet another opportunity to give more tranquility to its classiifca and, who knows, try the impossible climb toward the Playoff zone.

Instead, the Rosanero, after the home defeat against Venezia, have to look over their shoulders, as the team has collected just 15 points in 14 matches and has only one measly point ahead of third-last Como.

In the press conference at the ‘Barbera’ – which, incidentally, soundly contested team and coach at the final whistle – coach Eugenio Corini showed himself calm and not at all worried, but the air of skepticism that has been in the Sicilian capital for a few weeks now is becoming increasingly heavy. For now, the ownership in words has always confirmed confidence in the coach from Brescia, but the feeling is that already the next challenging match against Fabio Cannavaro’s Benevento, scheduled for Sunday, December 4 at 6 p.m., could be decisive for the fate of his bench.
