Juventus Seeks a Striker: The Bianconeri are in need of goals to qualify for the next Champions League; Randal Kolo Muani and Nick Woltemade aren’t providing enough goals to compete for fourth place. According to rumors reported by Tyc Sports, the Old Lady is also considering the option of Mauro Icardi.

The Argentine striker has already reiterated on several occasions that he wants to return to Italy, but has been rejected by his former team, Inter. Now, according to Argentine media, there have been contacts between the former Galatasaray striker and Juventus. Icardi, who has been a free agent since this summer following his departure from the Istanbul club, has confirmed his willingness to take a significant pay cut in order to return to play in Italy. Luciano Spalletti has already coached him during his time at Inter and would be ready to give the green light.

Inter’s rejection came directly from President Beppe Marotta, who clarified the club’s position during the pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Feyenoord: “He certainly hasn’t approached us. He’s a player who has given a lot to Inter, but honestly, he’s not part of our plans—just as signing a new striker isn’t part of our plans.” The Nerazzurri, Marotta noted, already have four forwards on their roster.

Icardi, on the other hand, is no stranger to Juventus. Back in June, after talks to renew Dusan Vlahovic’s contract fell through—and he left on a free transfer—the Icardi option resurfaced alongside Kolo Muani and Alexander Sorloth, with the deal reportedly costing relatively little. Over the summer, the Argentine was also linked to Gattuso’s Lazio and was being tracked by Fiorentina as a possible replacement for Moise Kean, but in the end, he did not move to either club. Meanwhile, the 1993-born player has continued to train on his own with a private fitness trainer, and his physical condition remains to be assessed following his latest lengthy layoff due to a knee injury.
