A hard-fought derby with no winner: Real Villasanta vs. Leoni Arcore, 2-2

Badoglio Paga

The derby between Real Villasanta and Leoni Arcore ends in a 2-2 tie. All the action takes place in the first half. The Biancoverdi got off to a terrible start, and the Biancorossi naturally took advantage to score twice: after ten minutes, the score displayed on the giant electronic scoreboard in front of the central stands was brutal for the home team, which trailed 2-0.

The home fans feared a total rout; some even threatened to turn their backs on their favorites and head over to the Circolo Parrocchiale Unione, where a billiards tournament was being held, but the Ciccio-boys don’t hesitate to respond: a penalty kick by Biella and a spectacular free-kick goal by Fava tie the score after just twenty minutes.

The first half remains thrilling, albeit with a bit too much rough play; the second half offers less to the large crowd in attendance: notable absences include Jalisse and Giovanni Bestetti—the former was spotted at a trade show in the United Arab Emirates, and the latter at a resort in Kenya.

At the final whistle, it was one point each: no runaway lead for the Lions, who move up to 16 points, and no catch-up in the standings for Real, who now have 13.
