Olimpia Milano defeated Trento 88-86 at the Forum, moving up to 10 points in the standings and turning the page after their disappointments in the EuroLeague. Interim coach Marco Ramondino, who took over for Peppe Poeta, shared his thoughts: “A EuroLeague team wastes a tremendous amount of energy.”

“For me, in my first year at this level, this is the first time I’ve truly understood how complicated it is to compete in this tournament and remain competitive in Italy. The important thing was to win, and now we’re trying to build some consistency.”

Ramondino sent a message to the team: “Being on this stage in Milan is a privilege on one hand and a responsibility on the other. We must be able to embrace both. This is a team sport, and I believe that all of us need to step up in terms of taking responsibility and showing determination.”

On Peppe Poeta’s dismissal: “Honestly, it all happened so quickly that it would be presumptuous of me to offer an account or interpretation of what took place. There’s great frustration and personal sadness for not having found a way to support the coach properly and enable him to achieve results. He would have deserved it because he’s the best person in the world—passionate and dedicated to basketball. What will change with Banchi? Right now, I’m not thinking clearly enough to make any comparative analyses.”
