Torino, the new trequartista may come from Spain
Torino looks to Spain for new trequartista
While on the field Torino is working to finish the championship in the best possible way, the management of the Granata club is already hard at work on the upcoming soccer market session. In particular, sporting director Vagnati has reportedly set his sights on Sergi Darder, a midfielder from Espanyol who has already been followed for at least a couple of seasons.
According to reports in Tuttosport, the Spanish player’s price tag is around 12 million euros, with a contract with the Catalan club expiring in 2026. However, Espanyol’s possible relegation could lower the Spaniards’ demands, not least because there is a clause in place whereby Darder could free himself on loan.
However, competition for the Iberian trequartista is fierce: in fact, there would also be other Italian clubs such as Lazio, Bologna and Fiorentina on him. It will certainly not be easy for Torino to complete the negotiation, which will depend a lot on the future of Miranchuk and Vlasic, but the fact remains that Darder would represent an excellent reinforcement for Toro and Ivan Juric’s midfield.
