Sbk Misano, total triumph for Alvaro Bautista and Ducati
Alvaro Bautista makes the en plein at Misano
Alvaro Bautista and Ducati finished a triumphant Sbk weekend in Misano that brought nothing but joy to the Spanish rider, the reigning world champion, and the Borgo Panigale-based Rossa.
Bautista, in fact, won on Sunday the Superpole Race and race-2 of the Emilia-Romagna Round, after having won Saturday’s Superpole and success in race-1. To his rivals, therefore, only the crumbs: Toprak Razgatliolgu (Yamaha) finished second in race-2 at over 8″ from the winner, while Axel Bassani took a brilliant third place on the Ducati Panigale V4R of the Motocorsa Racing Team.
Bautista in an excellent position to aim for his second consecutive Sbk title: the Spaniard has so far won 10 out of 10 races and 4 out of 5 Superpole Races: the only exception being Mandalika, which did not see him reach the finish line due to a crash. The end of the championship is still seven weekends away, so the math will have to wait.
