Jannik Sinner announces his upcoming commitments: ‘I want to do more’
Jannik Sinner on his social profiles took stock of the Wimbledon tournament, which ended in the semifinals after being beaten by Novak Djokovic in three sets. For the first time, the tennis player from San Candido finished in the top four at the Championships, a result that allowed him to move up the Atp Race ranking ahead of the Finals in Turin at the end of the year.
“Thank you Wimbledon for 2 special weeks. It was a memorable moment to make my first Grand Slam semifinal, but as always I’m looking forward to doing more and I’m already working to achieve that next step,” admitted the Blue, who set his next goals.
After congratulating Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic, Sinner announced that he will be back on the court in North America at the start of the U.S. tour that will culminate in the Us Open at the end of August: “Congratulations to both guys for the incredible final. Now a little rest, then on to America.”
Sinner will not play any tournaments for three weeks, and will return to action in early August for the Toronto Masters 1000. The South Tyrolean will also participate in the Cincinnati Masters, before the Slam at Flushing Meadows scheduled for Aug. 28 to Sept. 10.
