Alex Marquez renews, Gresini and Ducati praise him: ‘Wonderful person’

The renewal makes both the team and the parent company happy.

Alex Marquez remains with Ducati and Team Gresini for one more season. The announcement came on Thursday, and in addition to the Catalan rider’s words of great satisfaction came those of both his team and the parent company.

“Alex is first and foremost a wonderful person and it was a pleasure to welcome him into our Gresini Family,” team owner Nadia Padovani Gresini said of Alex Marquez. “The results speak for him and continuing together seemed a natural step for us to continue raising the bar. In his first year riding a Ducati he has already taken a win, a podium and a pole, showing from the start that he can stay with the best. Now together we will look for continuity in the coming season. I also want to thank the whole Ducati family with whom we will continue in the next two years, we have already shown that we are a very good pair both in 2022 and this year… The goal is to continue to excite and thrill.”

Great enthusiasm was also in the words of Ducati Corse General Manager Gigi Dall’Igna for the continuation of the agreement with the team: “We are really happy to have Team Gresini Racing MotoGP in the Ducati family again for two more seasons. It is an extremely professional structure and, over the years, has shown that it has the potential to aspire to great results. Last year the team achieved 4 beautiful victories with our Desmosedici GP and this season it boasts a podium, a pole position and a victory in the Sprint race at Silverstone with Alex Marquez. We are confident that together we will achieve more success in the future as well and continue to grow race after race.”
