F1 Ferrari, from Binotto clear warning to Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz
Team principal Binotto hopes that Sainz and Leclerc will focus on beating Russell and doing one-two: “The duel between them must be risk-free.”
Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto to Sky sends a message to Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, whose main goal on Sunday will be to take advantage of Red Bull’s difficulties to place a one-two: “Clearly our expectations were to make a one-two today, but our goal is the same for tomorrow, so I’m certainly not signing for today’s placing. A one-two would be crucial.”
On the possible duel between the two: “There are no team orders, but it is clear that between them the fight will have to be with margin and without risk. Anything can happen, but the episode in Austria was a misunderstanding between the two and nothing serious. In my opinion, the relationship between Leclerc and Sainz is absolutely functional for the team and what happened in France proves it.”
Red Bull’s difficulties: “We will have to try to make a good start, attacking Russell, but also being careful who is behind us. Red Bull will want to make a comeback.”
