WTA Toronto, Martina Trevisan stops immediately
Martina Trevisan’s tournament comes to an immediate close.
Martina Trevisan’s adventure in the WTA tournament in Toronto lasted only one round: the Tuscan tennis player, number 26 on the women’s professional circuit, was in fact defeated by Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia (No. 24 in the rankings) 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 in just over two hours of play.
It was not enough, therefore, to recover the set disadvantage with a brilliant second fraction, characterized by two breaks and no games lost on her own serve. In the third set, in fact, the Brazilian gave the decisive acceleration, going immediately to 4-0 and then controlling until 6-2.
Therefore, only one other Italian remains in the main draw of the Canadian tournament: it is Camila Giorgi, who will face Emma Raducanu on Tuesday.
