Halle scoreboard drawn, Jannik Sinner immediately finds a regular opponent
Jannik Sinner, in his first tournament as world No. 1 on the German grass in Halle, which is scheduled from Monday, June 17, to Sunday, June 23, and whose draw was made today, debuts against Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor, No. 23.
The Italian, who has already beaten Griekspoor four times out of four in his career, including twice this year, in Rotterdam in two sets and in Miami in three sets, could cross Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarters and Daniil Medvedev in the semifinals.
Four other Italians are also on the scoreboard. Luciano Darderi, number 41, will start against German Jan-Lennard Struff, number 35: whoever wins could take on Tsitsipas in the second round.
Flavio Cobolli, number 50, will challengeà Hubert Hurkacz, number 8. Matteo Berrettini debuts against a qualifier. Lorenzo Sonego opening against Miomir Kecmanovic of Serbia in the match that will determine the possible opponent of Alexander Zverev, No. 2 on the scoreboard, in the second round.
