ATP Halle, rain stops Matteo Berrettini and Bolelli-Vavassori doubles
Halle hit by heavy rain
The very heavy rain that fell on the region of Saxony-Anhalt on Tuesday did not spare the outdoor courts of Halle, where the match between Matteo Berrettini and the American Alex Michelsen was supposed to be played: around 6:10 p.m. came the official announcement of the postponement of the match, which will be played on Wednesday, June 19, not before 12 a.m.

Berrettini arrives at the Halle tournament on the strength of the excellent performance shown in Stuttgart, a tournament where he è reached the final after beating, in order, Roman Safiullin, Denis Shapovalov, James Duckworth and, in an all-Italian derby, Lorenzo Musetti. Only Jack Draper stopped the Roman's run to the final act, winning 3-6, 7-6(5), 6-4 in a comeback.
Also among the matches postponed in Halle was one that pitted the Italian doubles team of Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori against Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands (defeated in the first round of singles by Jannik Sinner) and Jan-Lennard Struff of Germany. This match è has also been postponed until Wednesday.
According to the weather forecast, however, there will be precipitation to contend with on Wednesday as well. In this sense some matches could be moved to the indoor field, the organization has reserved in this regard the possibility to decide even close to the matches.
