Sinner-Medvedev, the strange duel is renewed. Jannik’s words
Jannik Sinner will face Daniil Medvedev in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon: the challenge between the Italian tennis player and his Russian rival, who has already been faced many times in the past, is renewed. After Sinner won against Shelton the four sets, Medvedev also è qualified thanks to the withdrawal of Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, who raised the white flag due to a physical problem at 5-3 for the Muscovite in the first set.
"To the quarters with Medvedev? Either way it will be a good match. To be in a fourth Slam è an honor, especially in this tournament", said Jannik after his victory with Shelton.
The two tennis players have faced each other in 11 matches, with a peculiar trend: in the first six Medvedev won, in the last five, however, he always won over the current world number one, who clearly starts as the favorite in the Championships. One unknown remains: Sinner has never challenged the Russian on grass.
