Novak Djokovic made it past the quarterfinals at the Miami Masters 1000 by beating U.S. Sebastian Korda in two sets (6-3 7-6) and became at 37 the oldest semifinalist at the U.S. tournament, but what satisfies the Serb most of all is that he found he had an’extra weapon to try to go all the way.

“I am playing well this week, but the most important thing is to have found my serve again. The percentage of first serves was the key to the match – Djokovic explained. “Particularly in the second, I was down by a break and Korda was playing very well, I took a step back and he took advantage.

“It was hard to find the counter-break. I was more nervous than the previous days, Korda is very talented and it’s normal to have had some more difficulties, although I’m happy with the way I came out. I hope to keep serving this way, because it would allow me to have many advantages.”

“I can play the exchanges from the back in a more relaxed way, knowing that I have a’weapon that allows you to have easy points. Then of course it depends on how your opponent plays, but in general I feel I have been playing well all week, concluded the former world No. 1, who in the late Italian evening will face Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov.
