National team, Gennaro Gattuso joined by other legends: the names

Unless there is a resounding turnaround, Gennaro Gattuso will be the new technical commissioner of the national team. Ringhio will take the place of Luciano Spalletti and will be tasked with immediately getting the Azzurri back on track to avoid missing the 2026 World Cup date.

Gattuso is creating a technical team full of legends: Leonardo Bonucci and Andrea Barzagli will be part of his staff, although one of the two is expected (in the future) to move to the’Under 21. Also present in the team are Gianluca Zambrotta and Simone Perrotta, both 2006 heroes. Gianluigi Buffon will remain as head-delegation.

Crucially, the role that Cesare Prandelli will have: he will work closely with the Federation and with Gattuso to lay the foundations on which to build a new era of Italian soccer, starting, of course, with the development of young talent.
