Club World Cup: PSG overcomes Messi’s Inter Miami 4-0 and flies to the quarters

Paris Saint-Germain gives Inter Miami no chance and wins with authority access to the quarterfinals of the World Club Championship. At the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Luis Enrique’s team files the file already in the first half, overwhelming Messi and his teammates with a clear 4-0.
Storyless match from the first minutes, with PSG dominating in every aspect of the game. Joao Neves immediately rose to prominence with a double as a true bomber: first he opened the scoring with a header on a spot kick, then he doubled with a splendid conclusion at the end of a textbook choral action. In between, also an unfortunate own goal by Aviles that effectively cut the legs off the American formation. The Parisian poker came just before halftime with Hakimi, who ended a perfect first half for the European champions.
Decisive was also the performance of Kvaratskhelia, who was irrepressible on the flank: dribbling, accelerations and continuous tears brought the Inter Miami defense to its knees. Alongside him an inspired and dominant Vitinha in midfield. PSG showed an intensity and quality of play too superior for Tata Martino’s men.
For Lionel Messi, however, it was a bitter evening. After an anonymous first half, the Argentine champion tried to make his mark with a crazy play in the second half: an unreal, cinematic assist, which, however, Suarez failed to turn into a goal. A flash of class in a match where Messi seemed isolated and powerless in the face of the overwhelming power of his former teammates.
