Jasmine Paolini says goodbye to Wimbledon. The number 4 in the seeding and 5 in the WTA ranking, as well as a finalist in the last edition of the Championships, was surprisingly eliminated by Russian Kamilla Rakhimova, number 80 in the world, who won in a comeback with a final score of 4-6 6-4 6-4 after two hours and twenty minutes of play.

The’inertia is now on the side of Rakhimova who gets the break in the opening game, then confirmed (2-0). The Blue struggles to keep pace with the Russian, who concedes little or nothing on serve. In the last game, Paolini saves three match points, but in the fourth she surrenders with Rakhimova also making the third partial her own (6-4) and giving herself the third round at the Championships.
