Paola Egonu reveals the secret of Italvolley's successes

Paola Egonu spoke in a press conference on the eve of the first match of week 3 of Volleyball Nations League against Belgium, scheduled in Apeldoorn in the Netherlands on Wednesday at 5 pm.

“We are living a special moment, we are working hard and getting very good results. We are thinking match by match, not about what is happening or what will happen,” said the blue opposing player. “It could happen that we lose a match but this should not discourage us because we are aware that we have embarked on a path during which we have faced and will face very strong national teams that always require a game of the highest level”.

“We know that difficulties may come and it will be our duty to read them in the right way and then overcome them. We are not thinking about the nine or ten consecutive wins that we could achieve, but only about playing one game at a time, indeed one set at a time”.

“I am honest, I don&#8220t know if there are any secrets to what we are doing and experiencing but I am quite convinced that Monica De Gennaro&#8220s presence and example are proving to be instrumental in this moment of the team. She is a decisive player in every aspect: in training and on the court, with her great charisma she pushes us all to give our best. Veterans and young people follow her example and are driven to give their best to always be ready. On the court she is a leader, a guide for all of us, and I think that is one of the secrets that are making this group special” she concluded.
