Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati, spoke to the microphones of Sky Sport after the Sprint Race of the German Grand Prix that saw Marc Marquez triumph for the umpteenth time, while Pecco Bagnaia disappointed again, finishing in twelfth place.

“We would like them all to make the podium, however, it is complicated and difficult – he began -. Our job, of the team, is to try to put the bikes in the best possible condition. It’s clear that when one wins as Marc won today, recovering and having an extraordinary race, turning exceptional times, it would take complete happiness.

“Pecco’s part always worries us a little bit’ – admitted the Borgo Panigale manufacturer’s ad -, because I think even Italian sportsmen would like to see him stronger. We have Diggia who is giving us good satisfaction, both yesterday in the dry and also today in the wet he fought for the podium. We see by mixing a little bit’ all the settings, and the guys are doing that, if there’s something for Pecco for tomorrow”.

“Idea about Pecco’s difficulties? If I had it and had the solution I would have already given advice. So evidently the theme is not so simple. Again, the guys brought a new chassis here to make him feel different sensations, to change elements. When it comes to feeling, it’s not so clear so often and you can’t measure everything. So you have to try to make changes until you find a way and then go from there, and that is what the guys are doing”.

Bagnaia finished 20 seconds behind Marquez in the Sprint: “It means you did not have a good race. But here the conditions are different, the wet is different. Some feelings are similar, however, he complained a lot about things that are too big in size. Like there is something important that is not working. D’on the other hand, the gap signals it, Pecco is a guy who won the last wet race he had done. So there’s something that isn&#8217t sticking, however, the reasons for today in the wet are a little bit’different and I don&#8217t think they&#8217re so related to the chassis”.

“Maybe what you can say is that when you have a base that you are confident with, and you change very little from one race to the next and from one condition to the next, it gives you more confidence in all conditions. Doing these constant tests to try to find different solutions doesn&#8217t help you get a confidence. However, if you don&#8217t have it, it&#8217s a bit of a dog biting its own tail” Domenicali concluded.
