Milan market, triggers domino effect after Rafael Leao’s knockout

First the goal, Milan’s first official of the season, then the injury: the match they won in the Coppa Italia against Bari leaves a rather heavy aftermath for the Rossoneri, who have to deal with the knockout of Rafael Leao, who came off at 17′ of the San Siro challenge due to a muscle problem. A headache not only from a tactical point of view, but also because of the consequences at the level of calciomercato.
A Milan, in fact, is in advanced negotiations with Leeds United for the transfer of Noah Okafor, with the Swiss player also reportedly interested in playing in the Premier League, but the forced absence of the Portuguese, who could also miss the start of the championship, could scupper the deal involving the via Aldo Rossi and Yorkshire clubs.
Factually, without Leao and Okafor, Milan would have in attack only a proper forward, Santiago Gimenez, a second forward, Christian Pulisic, and a pair of outfielders employable in attack, Alexis Saelemaekers and Samu Chukwueze. The Rossoneri would therefore be forced to act quickly in the market, having just over two weeks before the scheduled 8 p.m. closing on Sept. 1.
Before the summer soccer market session closes, Milan will make its league debut against Cremonese at the San Siro on Saturday, August 23, at 8:45 p.m., and then play the following Friday at the same time at the Via del Mare against Lecce. After the break for national team activities, the Rossoneri will then return to the field on Sept. 14, at home against Bologna.
