From Turkey comes good news for Juventus

Fenerbahçe has officially ended its relationship with Jose Mourinho, a separation that came after little more than a year of cohabitation and far from the expectations of the eve. In Istanbul, the “toto-coach” has already begun, and among the names circulating insistently is that of Thiago Motta, former Juventus coach.

For the Turkish club, it would be a choice in continuity with the idea of modern soccer: organized pressing, ball possession and enhancement of young people. For Motta, on the other hand, a chance to relaunch himself after an exoneration arrived with surprising timing in Turin.

But the Italian-Brazilian’s candidacy also, and perhaps above all, interests Juventus. Indeed, the contract Motta signed with the Bianconeri last summer binds him to the club until June 30, 2027, with a salary of about 3.5 million net per season. Despite the early termination of the relationship, Juve remains obliged to pay his salary until the coach finds a new accommodation.

This is why an eventual signing with Fenerbahçe would also have direct effects on the accounts of the Juventus club. The estimated savings would be in the order of 10 million euros gross over the next two seasons, a figure that could go up considering the staff as well. Valuable resources for a club engaged in a delicate process of reconstruction and attentive to balancing its budget.

The scenario, then, is clear: Motta to Fenerbahçe would not only mean a new chapter for the coach, but also a breath of fresh air for Juventus, which would see a significant economic burden lightened. For now we are in the realm of speculation, but the fit appears convenient for all parties involved.
