Lorenzo Musetti calls Jannik Sinner and confesses: "Best set ever"

Lorenzo Musetti has taken the quarterfinals of the US Open, and he is already calling Jannik Sinner. The Tuscan managed to overwhelm the Spaniard Jaume Munar, beating him with a 6-3, 6-0, 6-1 no-fuss centering his first quarterfinal on the concrete at Flushing Meadows. Here it is possible that he will face his compatriot from Alto Adige, a wish the Carrara champion made to himself at the end of the match. Where he also dwelt on the difficult weeks he has put behind him, stressing how important it was for him to find himself in New York.
“I can“t even put into words how pleased I am with this match – Musetti admitted as soon as he finished his clash with Munar -I knew today was going to be particularly tough. I am very excited, because the last month has been terrible. My tennis, my game and the results it has brought are all elements that had made me sad. I lost three very tough matches where I had had my chances. But tennis is like that, it is made of ups and downs and you always have to stay mentally present”.
“In the last few weeks I have been able to rebuild myself from a psychological point of view, and I am really proud of that– continued Musetti.”
First of all, I want to thank all my team, who have been by my side during this very heavy month. Speaking of the match, I prepared it very well. My performance was very solid, especially in the second set. In fact: it was one of the best sets of my life so far. I never made a mistake”.
“To have that kind of feeling on the court is really good. I needed to change something, simplify my game mechanics especially in the serve. Today went really well from that point of view, then you can always improve further but I am really happy with these changes we made”, added Musetti. Who then, in Italian, admitted that he would like to play Sinner in the quarters: “We hope to face Jannik, obviously the whole of Italy wants to see this match and I think the whole circuit as well. I can’t wait to find out who will be my next opponent”.
