Sassari falls at home, Piero Bucchi doesn’t hide disappointment
Debut with defeat in Europe for Dinamo
Dinamo Sassari comes out defeated in the first Basketball Champions League challenge: to impose themselves at PalaSerradimigni is Unicaja Malaga, with the final score of 87-76 accrued especially after the long interval.
In the postgame, Dinamo coach Piero Bucchi did not hide his disappointment with his players’ handling of the 40 minutes: “Congratulations to Malaga, I think they played a good game while we paid a lot of up-and-downs and they were good at taking advantage in our energy dips. We have to work on that to find continuity in the 40 minutes because this competition requires a high level of physical and mental toughness to compete.”
“They really have high-level 12 players,” Bucchi added, “it’s a team that can afford to have a continuous intensity and toughness in the 40 minutes. The team paid physically, we dropped a little bit and it coincided with physical fatigue. Jones is still not at his best but he has taken a step forward, he still needs to find more condition but we have seen improvements on the court because in fact he only has two weeks of work in his legs. Dowe also needs to find his size-these are guys who need to figure out where they are at: it takes patience but we need to get them back as soon as possible.”
