For Italrugby first ever challenge with Chile

Italy will face Chile and not Samoa in the test match scheduled for Nov. 22 in Genoa, Italy, as part of the Nations Series. World Rugby has confirmed that it has made the change to the international calendar by including the South Americans, who just qualified for the 2027 World Cup right at the expense of the Oceania national team.

The match, the Italian federrugby recalls, will be the first meeting between the Azzurri and the Chilean national team. The decision was reached by mutual agreement between the three federations, World Rugby and the Six Nations, organizer of the Nations Series. following a request from Samoa.

In the double-header with Chile, the Oceania national team missed qualifying for the 2027 World Cup in Australia in favor of the South Americans. Now Samoa is preparing for the final World Cup Qualifying Tournament, the last leg of this journey, which will take place in Dubai from Nov. 8 to 18.
