At the end of an intense hour of play on the indoor concrete in Stockholm, Sweden, Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori beat Miomir Kecmanovic and Alexandre Muller to qualify for the doubles semifinals at the Stockholm Open. The two Italians won in a comeback, 4-6, 6-1, 10-5, getting the better of the opposing duo on a super tie-break.

After a very balanced start, the Serb and the Frenchman won the decisive break, in the first set, at 3-3, and in fact did not have to look over their shoulders again until the end of the fraction. Very different was the trend in the second set, in which Bolelli and Vavassori left the crumbs to their opponents of the day, conceding only one game.

Everything was thus decided at the super tie-break, the now most popular method of deciding doubles matches.

Bolelli and Vavassori were able to react to a handicap start, signing a partial eight points to one, starting from 2-4, thanks to which they managed to victoriously close the match, qualifying for the penultimate act of the Swedish tournament.

Awaiting Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori in the semifinals will be Austria&#8217s Alexander Erler and America&#8217s Robert Galloway, who in their own quarterfinal got the better of the duo consisting of two other Austrians, Neil Oberleitner and David Pichler, with a score of 6-3, 7-5 in one hour and fourteen minutes of play.
