Jenson Button says enough: last race in Bahrain then retirement from racing

Jenson Button has made his retirement from racing official. The British driver, born in 1980, is currently involved in the WEC. He will run his last race in Bahrain this weekend, at the end of which he will bid farewell to a world in which he has been a major player, especially in Formula 1.

“This appointment will be my last race. I have always liked Bahrain, I think it is a fun track and I will try to enjoy it as much as possible because this will be the end of my career as a professional driver”, his words released to BBC Radio.

The British driver will be the last race of his career.

The British driver made his Formula 1 debut in 2000, driving for Williams. His peak l’reached in 2009 when he became Formula 1 World Champion with Brawn. In total, he took part in 309 GPs, winning 15 GPs and taking an impressive 50 podiums (the same as Charles Leclerc).

At the end of his Formula 1 experience (2017), Jenson Button continued racing: Super GT and Endurance. At the weekend, driving his Jota Sport team car, he will be on track in the Bahrain 8 Hours. His last race before retirement. In his future, as he explained, there’s, in the first place, having more time to dedicate to his family.
