F1, Charles Leclerc returns to the blurred world championship: the message to Max Verstappen

After the frustration, the tribute to the rival.

Max Verstappen was confirmed as world champion at Suzuka, clinching the 2022 title after winning the Japanese Grand Prix partly thanks to Charles Leclerc’s third place finish. And the Ferrari driver, after hotly expressing his great frustration, a few hours later sent an important message to his Red Bull rival.

“Many congratulations, Max Verstappen, on winning your second world title. Today was not a great day for us, because of the really too much degradation. We will keep pushing until the end, nothing else matters,” Leclerc indeed wrote on Twitter, several hours after the checkered flag in Suzuka.

“Today was really a struggle and a pain with the tires in the last laps. It had happened before: we start well but then after a few laps we destroy the tires. It’s frustrating. Today we had no pace, the pace was gone after four laps, but that’s how it went,” had been Leclerc’s hot comment.

Already in the press conference, however, Leclerc had congratulated Verstappen. “Max’s title this year is completely deserved. He has driven incredibly all season long,” he had said.
