The Recognition Plaque awarded by the IMF to the Guardia di Finanza Historical Museum has been unveiled. Placed at the facility’s entrance, the coat of arms certifies the Museum&#8217s cultural value.

The ceremony was attended by the Chief of Staff of the General Command of the Guardia di Finanza, Division General Giuseppe Arbore, FMI President Giovanni Copioli, the President of the Historical Museum, General of the Army Corps Flavio Zanini, and FMI Institutional Relations Manager Francesca Marozza.

Opened by greetings from Generals Zanini and Arbore and Attorney Copioli, the meeting continued with the unveiling of the recognition plaque. The coat of arms will distinguish the Guardia di Finanza Museum as one of the most important nationwide for the history of our motorcycling.

During the appointment, the Director of the Historical Museum, Lt. Col. Giuseppe Furno, led those present on a tour of the facility. Inaugurated in 1937, it houses vehicles – all entered in the FMI Historic Register – such as the Gilera B 300 Extra, the Gilera Giubileo 124, the Moto Guzzi 500 Falcone Sport, the Moto Morini Corsaro 158 “flathead” formerly in use by the “Fiamme Gialle” Motorcycle Sports Group, the Moto Guzzi V7, the Moto Guzzi V 75 and the Aprilia Pegaso 650 IE.

During the visit, Attorney Copioli and General Arbore addressed issues related to the protection of motorcycle heritage but also explored further possibilities for collaboration.

Giovanni Copioli, FMI President: “Visiting the Guardia di Finanza Historical Museum was a great opportunity to immerse oneself in Italian motor and military culture. I believe that certifying the value of this facility is a must as it keeps the history of our country alive. I would like to thank the Chief of Staff of the General Command of the Guardia di Finanza, Division General Giuseppe Arbore, and the President of the Historical Museum, Army Corps General Flavio Zanini for guiding us through this experience and sharing with us important values concerning the culture and history of two wheels. The occasion was also fruitful to address several issues, present and future, which are fundamental to developing and increasing our collaboration.”

Flavio Zanini, President of the Guardia di Finanza Historical Museum: “I am grateful to the President of the FMI, Avv. Giovanni Copioli, for recognizing the cultural value of our Museum and the Historic Vehicles Collection, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Realized with the fundamental contribution of the General Command of the Corps, witnessed today by the presence of General Arbore whom I thank, in the last three years the collection has increased its presence in the most prestigious motorsport events, including international ones. This has allowed a wide audience to appreciate the evolution of the vehicles and the multifaceted souls of an institution that, proudly tied to its roots, has been able to evolve, confirming itself as an irreplaceable garrison to protect the State and the community.”
