The ’last match of the ‘Bjorn Borg Group’ at the ATP Finals in Turin gives the passage of the round to Felix Auger-Aliassime, who in what can be considered as a real tiebreaker for second place in the round won by Jannik Sinner beat Alexander Zverev in two sets, 6-4, 7-6(4), ousting the German himself from the competition. It will be the world number 8, therefore, who will meet Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals.

The Canadian risked a couple of times in the first set, finding himself forced to cancel a break ball at 2-2 and another at 4-4, but he gained confidence stroke after stroke in the final and after no less than four set points managed to snatch the only break of the fraction, which ended 6-4 in his favor.

In the second fraction Auger-Aliassime throws away two break points at 2-1, but at the same time resists the attempts of the German, who fails to shift gears and loses a few too many points in the top situations of the match. However, the overall balance remains, the set being decided at the tie-break where the Canadian started better and Zverev came back up to 4-3, before, however, fading away: with four consecutive points it was Auger-Aliassime who won the final victory.

The ‘Bjorn Borg Group’ thus ends with Jannik Sinner in first place with three wins, Felix Auger-Aliassime second with two, Alexander Zverev third with one, and Ben Shelton fourth, with no wins. Sinner will face Alex de Minaur in the semifinals, who tied with Taylor Fritz and Lorenzo Musetti’edged him out for second place in the ‘Jimmy Connors Group’ thanks to the quotient of games won, while Auger-Aliassime will play against Alcaraz, who excelled without any problems of his own.
