Kay Felder, return to the parquet is a rebus: Pesaro provides clarity

Ufficio Stampa VL Pesaro

Despite the optimism of a few days ago, VL Pesaro cannot yet re-embrace Kay Felder: the American basketball player, who after a flare-up of the foot problem he suffered had been reassured by the outcome of medical examinations, which had found no injuries or complications, will not return to the parquet in the game that the red-and-whites will play Sunday against Brindisi in the A2 Series championship. It was the Marche club itself that confirmed Felder’s absence, whose official return date on the parquet thus remains an unknown: the next opportunity could come on December 14, in the home game against Cento.

“Victoria Libertas Pallacanestro Pesaro announces that player Kay Felder will not take part in the match of the sixteenth day of Serie A2 scheduled for Sunday at 6 p.m. at PalaPentassuglia in Brindisi against Valtur – reads the club note -; he will remain in Pesaro to continue the differentiated work plan agreed upon by the medical staff. Among the ten to report on the Apulian parquet will be young Riccardo Leonardi, class of 2009. Felder”s condition is progressing and the goal is to have him back in the group from the beginning of next week and then to be able to line him up on Sunday, December 14 in the home game against Cento” concludes the company, confirming that the’intention is to recover Felder for the next home match.

Felder, after the specialist consultation in recent days, had begun the recovery path under the guidance of Professor Roberto Venerandi, following the indications of the medical staff coordinated by Dr. Piero Benelli. The company had stressed that the rehabilitation program had been defined in such a way as to allow step-by-step monitoring of the U.S. basketball player’s condition, with the goal of getting him back to U.S. condition in a few days. The’absence from the call-up list for the Brindisi game, however, confirmed the’lengthening recovery time.

Pesaro, therefore, will have to do without Felder in the top challenge against Brindisi.

The red-and-whites are first with 22 points after fifteen games played, the Brinsidini have one game less and 20 points in the standings.
