Inter market, Nerazzurri break things off: strike in January, name already chosen

Inter will strengthen in the winter market. The Nerazzurri managers, initially inclined to wait until the summer session, are now opting to anticipate at least one strike as early as January in order to immediately reinforce the squad available to coach Cristian Chivu and compete for victory on all fronts. The rather advanced average age of the team, especially in defense, is prompting president Beppe Marotta and his staff to take immediate action: and the recent injury to Francesco Acerbi, who will only return in January due to a muscle problem, has further reinforced this conviction.

The sporting director Piero Ausilio will have 20 to 30 million euros at his disposal for the market: the priority seems to be precisely that of a central defender. The number one name on the purchase list is Mario Gila, a Lazio defender who has long been in the Nerazzurri’s (and other) sights. Gila, class of 2000, falls within the spending parameters of the club’s ownership and at the moment receives a one million euro salary at Lazio, easily doubled by the Nerazzurri. The biancocelesti picked up the player for 6 million euros from Real Madrid in 2022 and his current market value is around 20 million euros.

L’Inter is preparing the assault, and if the right offer comes Lazio will sit at the table, despite the fact that Gila is an important player for Maurizio Sarri: the Capitoline club needs to sell in order to get back to buying in the market. Moreover, the player&#8217s agent is the same as Lautaro Martinez&#8217s, Alejandro Camano, with whom Inter has excellent relations. Inter president Beppe Marotta on the sidelines of the match against Liverpool spoke about possible action in January: “We look at the January market very carefully. If there is an opportunity to strengthen the team we will certainly take it into consideration”.

“The roster at the moment meets our program and the coach’s requirements. And also in light of the fact that it will be a different market from the summer market, I do not foresee any relevant operations. Contract renewals? We are in a very quiet situation from this point of view, with no special cases”.

“Calmly we will deal with all the situations that are on the table, and we will gratify those players who deserve it, or who have special situations. We are very attentive to the contractual aspects of the players”. Inter for the defense also looks to England: among the profiles evaluated is that of Marcos Senesi, who could leave Bournemouth for free in June.
