Robert Lewandowski gave an interview to Polish journalist Bogdan Rymanowski on his YouTube channel, addressing in no uncertain terms the subject of the future, the momentum of his current team and the goals he continues to set for himself even though he knows he has entered the final phase of his career. With a contract running until June 30, the Barcelona striker made it clear that he is in no hurry to decide what comes next and that he is not living the situation as a problem: “There is still time to decide. I don’t feel any pressure and right now I don’t even know which path I will take”.

Lewandowski, who has been persistently accosted by AC Milan, explained that his future will not depend on outside rumors or downward compromises: “I don’t talk to the coach about any interest from other clubs. Nor is it a question of halving my salary. The choice will depend on what the club wants and what I think is best”. The Polish center forward stressed that the final outcome will be linked “to the club”s sports project and the role I might play under Hansi Flick”.

Far from any age-related resignation, Lewandowski claimed his own hunger for victories and short-term ambitions: “I want everything: to qualify for the World Cup, to win La Liga and Champions League. I know I am in the final part of my career, but my ambitions remain very high”. The number 9 then spoke positively about Barcelona’s momentum and the feelings conveyed by the team in recent weeks: “We have seen growth. Now there is more stability and this helps the performance of the group. The atmosphere in the locker room is good”.

Looking ahead to the national team, Lewandowski highlighted the complexity of the path to the World Cup, while trusting in the boost of the crowd in the decisive matches: “Tough opponents await us. It will not be easy, but playing at home against Albania, with the support of our fans, gives us something extra”.

In addition to current events, the bomber offered a deeper reflection on his career: “Getting to the top is not the hardest thing; the real challenge is to stay there. For many years we had to push our bodies and minds over the edge”. During the interview, the Barça striker also spoke about his family, with emotionally charged words: “My father has never seen me play professionally, but I feel he is watching me from the best seat in the stadium”.
