In the last round of the Turkish league, during the match between Kocaelispor and Fenerbahce, we witnessed an indecent scene. Marco Asensio unlocked the match in favor of the Istanbul club just before halftime and teammates ran to hug him in celebration. Some Kocaelispor fans, evidently nervous after the goal they conceded, thought it best to vent their anger against the Fenerbahce players and threw everything on the field: glasses, lighters and other objects.

A small bottle filled with water hit Mattéo Guendouzi full on, who immediately slumped to the ground. His teammates acted as his human shield while the Fenerbahce medical staff rushed to the field to check his condition. Fortunately, nothing serious; Guendouzi was medicated with ice and was later able to continue playing. Images of the violence went around the web and the Lazio people sent many messages of support to the French midfielder.

At the age of 1999, Mattéo Guendouzi moved to Turkey at the beginning of January to wear the Fenerbahce jersey: Claudio Lotito&#8217s Lazio sold him for 28 million euros, ending the French midfielder&#8217s two-and-a-half-year experience in Rome. Maurizio Sarri tried hard to keep him but Lotito l’s sold him also due to budget issues. In addition to Guendouzi, Taty Castellanos, who flew to West Ham, and Christos Mandas, who chose Bournemouth, also left Lazio in the winter soccer session.

The French midfielder has also left Lazio.

To reinforce the biancoceleste team arrived Kenneth Taylor (from Ajax for almost 17 million euros), Petar Ratkov (from Salzburg for 13 million euros) and Adrian Przyborek (from Pogon Szczecin for 4.5 million euros) in addition to Daniel Maldini (on loan from Atalanta) and Edoardo Motta (from Reggiana for 1.2 million euros).

Thanks to 32 points won in the first 23 league games, Lazio is eighth in the standings and is fighting for a European placement.

The Biancocelesti are coming off a 3-2 victory over Genoa and will face Juventus in Turin on Sunday night, then take on Bologna in the Coppa Italia.
