Cagliari, Fabio Liverani grooms two of his own despite success
Liverani did not seem completely satisfied with the performance of Luvumbo and Pereiro
Despite the joy of the success obtained in a comeback, in the final, against Perugia (the 3-2 at the triple whistle is worth the passage to the next round of the Coppa Italia), Fabio Liverani wants to keep the tension high among the players of his Cagliari, and in particular of two elements on which he bet, on Friday, from 1′, Zito Luvumbo and Gaston Pereiro.
“Luvumbo has important qualities but he has to keep working,” Liverani said in the press conference, “he absolutely has to improve in some aspects. We cannot waste so much as we did today.”
“Pereiro,” the Rossoblù coach added, “moved well, but he seemed to lack that nastiness in the decisive play. I’ve been prodding him since day one, now it’s up to him to put that extra something in. We can’t afford to wait too long for him, nor can he afford not to improve: the competition on the roster is high.”
