Friendly match between Juve and Atletico cancelled due to tensions in Middle East
The luxury friendly match in Tel Aviv between Juventus and Atletico Madrid, the last test for both teams ahead of the start of their respective leagues, has been cancelled.
It was announced by the Madrid club in a tweet, “Due to the current security situation, Comtec Group (promoter of the match), Juventus and Atletico Madrid announce that the friendly between the two teams that was to take place in Israel on Sunday, August 7 at Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv has been cancelled.”
Tensions in the Middle East and the threat of jihadists’ rocket attacks on Tel Aviv prompted the two clubs’ decision; both clubs are looking for an alternative for Sunday.
