Gianmarco Pozzecco stresses Italbasket’s main quality
“These guys know how to emote,” Pozzecco said.
Italbasket coach Gianmarco Pozzecco, on the eve of the quarterfinal against Rudy Gobert’s France, spoke at a press conference, emphasizing the main quality of his men: “After Serbia, France is waiting for us. And if the predictions in the other games are met, the next opponent going forward would be Slovenia. We continue to cultivate our dream, but another sports miracle is needed. What I see, and what is also evident from home, is that this team knows how to excite like few others and this is the most beautiful thing that can happen to a team.”
The former point guard then profiled the transalpines: “France is one of the best teams in the world and is a different team from Serbia, having even more athleticism and more options at their disposal. We, on the other hand, are Italy and we will continue to play our basketball, made of tough defense, running and confidence on offense. By now we have our own identity and we want to continue on this path. In today’s basketball it is impossible to give precise rules because the difference on the court is made by the players’ readings and Nicolò Melli is a master in this.”
