Roma, Jose Mourinho doesn’t go for it: “Like in the swimming pool? Enough said.”
An ejection for protest, explained in no uncertain terms at the end of the game.
José Mourinho returns to the red card he received during Roma-Atalanta, a match won at the Stadio Olimpico by the Orobici, and at the microphones of ‘DAZN’ uses very harsh words towards the referee and opponents.
“I had no particular problems with either Chiffi or Hateboer,” Mourinho began, “They simply threw away an extra ball to stop the game, and I wanted to avoid it. I entered the field and the ejection came, nothing more. Other than that, emotions remained controlled. Except for a clear penalty not awarded to Zaniolo in the first half.”
And on this episode the Roma coach went into more detail, not renouncing his usual sarcasm. “I aim to be the best coach I can be. But if they tell me that the referee does not whistle a penalty if a player does not jump, I change the directions to give my people. I asked Chiffi, but he didn’t answer me. I think there is no interpretation to give, but if I have to be a clown and say we are in the pool just say so,” thundered Mourinho.
Finally, the Lusitanian coach praised his Roma side’s performance, “This was the easiest game to win this season. With Monza or Cremonese we did not manage to dominate for 90 minutes, today we did. We played a great game, they defended very well. And that is a quality, but there was also some luck.”
