Federica Brignone, initial injury already behind her
The words of Federica Brignone
The gathering of the elite women’s team, busy on the Argentine snows of Ushuaia for a few more days before the return to Italy scheduled for Friday, September 23, is coming to an end. Marta Bassino, Federica Brignone and Sofia Goggia are completing the training cycle of more than a month spent on the track, which has seen them engaged in both technical disciplines and speed.
Brignone had left for South America with a minor physical problem to resolve, which was promptly absorbed during her stay. “My left leg is much better,” says the Valle d’Aosta native, winner of the Super-G World Cup last year and two Olympic medals at Beijing 2022. I arrived in Argentina with the doubt of not knowing if I would be able to complete the stage, however the good athletic work done during the summer was very helpful and helped me overcome the uncertainty. Physically I feel fine, on skis I am much better than I was a while ago, I just lack some of that confidence that only comes with training on the track. We still have a few more weeks to refine the condition before the World Cup debut in Soelden. The snow conditions in Uhsuaia have been great, we’ve had a lot of good days, the weather has been favorable.”
