F1, Ferrari: Mattia Binotto goes down flat with FIA and Red Bull
Mattia Binotto says he is “pessimistic”
At the conclusion of Saturday’s qualifying session at Suzuka, Mattia Binotto also spoke to the microphones of ‘Sky Sport’ about what he expects from the FIA regarding the budget cap case, saying he is anything but optimistic — from Ferrari’s point of view — about what the Federation will decide with regard to Red Bull.
“They have postponed the decision, it means that the discussion is not yet over and that there are unclear points,” said the Cavallino team principal. “The FIA disputes and Red Bull defends itself, it’s normal. The important thing is that if something has been granted it is transparent for everyone, because we all have to understand the regulations. I am a bit pessimistic, everything could melt like snow in the sun: but clarity and transparency will be important.”
The ruling on the budget cap case was expected in recent days, but the Federation, through an official statement, had confirmed the need to postpone any decision until early next week.
