Italy took the silver medal in the team pursuit event at the Track Cycling World Championships.
In Paris, the Azzurri, who brilliantly qualified for the final act, had to bow to Great Britain.
Filippo Ganna’s rivals got off to a strong start and never stopped, while the fresh hour record holder failed to lead his teammates to a comeback in the second half of the race.
The final time of the new world champions was 3’45″829, two tenths better than the Azzurri.
