F1 glowing: Marko throws accusations at Ferrari and Mercedes
After budget cap overrun and Red Bull sanctions made official, climate heats up
Red Bull adviser Helmut Marko at the microphones of Sky Deutschland returned to the budget cap case and the sanctions to Red Bull, pointing the finger at the leak: “To me it seems strange that Ferrari and Mercedes made detailed news public before we were informed about it.”
On the overrun: “We had calculated about three million excess, as a safety safeguard, and we thought nothing could happen. It didn’t. There ended up being 400,000 left. Maybe it’s also because the rules are new. It’s not a matter of opinion, we have certified accountants who told us we were in the right.”
The wind tunnel restriction imposed by Fia: “It represents a huge disadvantage, also because our wind tunnel is quite old, and we cannot afford mistakes in development. What will go into the tunnel will also have to adapt to the track. The team, however, is motivated to do well.”
